Privacy Policy
Kledd (“the app”, “we”) helps parents dress their children for the kindergarten day. The app is built to collect as little data as possible, and information about children is treated with particular care.
1. What we store
- About the child: a first name or nickname (optional — you may leave it blank), an age band (0–1, 1–3, 3–6 years) and a warmth profile (“gets cold easily / average / warms up fast”). We never ask for a date of birth, photos or anything else that identifies the child.
- Location: only a coarse cell — roughly 5 km across — ever leaves your device, and it is what we use to fetch the forecast for the kindergarten. The exact position and the address you picked stay on your phone; we never receive them. You can also search for the place by hand instead of sharing the device’s location at all.
- Settings: language, notification time, time zone and which notifications you want.
- Feedback: your evening answers (“too cold / perfect / too warm”, “got wet”), used only to adjust the recommendation for your child by at most ±2 °C.
- Account: by default the app signs you in anonymously — we hold no name, e-mail or phone number. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we additionally store the e-mail address and display name that the provider returns, so your data can follow you to a new device.
- Purchases: for Kledd Plus we store the receipt and subscription status. Payment details never reach us — Apple and Google handle the payment.
- Push token: so the morning notification can reach your device.
2. Ads in the free version
The free version of Kledd shows ads through Google AdMob. To do that, Google may process an advertising identifier and technical data from the device.
- On iOS we ask your permission before any tracking-based (personalised) advertising, through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
- You can change your ad choices at any time in the app: Settings → Ad settings.
- Kledd Plus removes all ads, and with them the advertising identifier processing.
How Google uses data from apps that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
3. Crash reports
We use Firebase Crashlytics to find out when the app crashes. It sends anonymous diagnostics — device model, OS version and a stack trace. No information about your child is included.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
- We do not profile children.
- We never ask for photos, contacts, the microphone or the camera.
5. Where the data lives
Data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) in the europe-west (eur3) region — inside the EU/EEA. The weather comes from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (api.met.no); only the coordinate cell (about 5 km) is sent there, never anything about your child.
6. Legal basis (GDPR)
We process the data to deliver the service you asked for (contract) and on the basis of legitimate interest for the learning that improves your child’s recommendation. Personalised advertising is processed on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
7. Deleting your account and your data
In the app: Settings → Delete account (or Delete all data if you never signed in). This immediately and permanently deletes the account and every piece of server data belonging to it. There is no soft delete and no archive. See the dedicated account deletion page for the full walkthrough.
For access requests or any other question about your data, write to support@kledd.app.
8. Notifications
Push notifications (the morning nudge, the pickup alert) are delivered through the Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging. You control them in the app and in your system settings.
9. Subscription
Kledd Plus is bought through the App Store or Google Play. We never receive card details. Receipts are verified on our server for one purpose only: to switch on the features you paid for.
10. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will tell you in the app.
